Jay Warner
Owner & Fiber Artist
I am the artist and maker behind Rogue Wovens, bringing over 12 years of hands-on loom experience to every piece I craft in my studio. I spent six of those years as a contract weaver for high-end international studios, specializing in intricate, custom baby-wearing wraps that demanded absolute precision, structural integrity, and material excellence.
In 2023, I went "rogue" and stepped out on my own to found Rogue Wovens—a dedicated space for my custom dyeing, bespoke textile commissions, and functional fiber art. Known for combining technical mastery with vibrant, pre-weave dyeing techniques, I also teach weaving locally and nationally at fiber festivals and write articles for weaving publications. Every piece I weave reflects my commitment to responsive design, high-end fibers, and the enduring beauty of handwoven art.
Discover Custom Woven Art
Finding textiles that truly express your style can be a challenge. At Rogue Wovens, I create handwoven pieces, custom fabric, and hand-dyed scarves tailored to your preference, blending traditional craftsmanship with personal artistry. As a fiber art studio based in Wisconsin, I help clients across the United States bring bespoke designs into their daily lives.
My Approach & Values
Every item is crafted with intention, using high-end yarns and custom-dyed fibers that offer distinct texture and longevity. Working directly with me means your ideas shape the final product, resulting in functional pieces that fit seamlessly into your wardrobe or home. I prioritize clear communication throughout the design phase so you know exactly how your piece will look and feel. Choosing custom fiber art allows you to support deliberate production while owning something made specifically for you.
My Story & Expertise
My journey began after twelve years at the loom, including six years spent precision-weaving specialized baby wraps for high-end international studios. Wanting full creative independence, I launched my independent studio in 2023 to focus on custom dyeing and individual commissions. Today, that background in complex structures shapes everything from my wall panels to my national weaving workshops. My goal remains straightforward: to deliver responsive, carefully crafted textiles that celebrate the art of weaving.
